Russia's Precision Machine-building Design Bureau (TsNIITochMash) unveiled a new heavy pistol for the country's special forces at the Army 2016 defence show outside Moscow.
"The new pistol is designated SR-1MP, it is an upgraded variant of the SR-1 Gyurza [export designation: Vektor] firearm developed in the mid-1990s. SR-1MP is chambered in the SP10 9x21 mm armour-piercing cartridge developed by TsNIITochMash. The pistol has a combat weight of 1.11 kg, a length of 200 mm, a barrel length of 120 mm, a width of 34 mm, a height of 145 mm, a muzzle velocity of 410 m/s, a maximum effective firing range of 100 m, and a magazine capacity of 18 rounds.
