Supacat, part of the SC Group (Hall 5, Stand
A257), is launching its all-new LRV400 Mk 2 light reconnaissance vehicle onto
the international market at Eurosatory.A key feature of the vehicle is that it can be
transported internally in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter fully equipped and loaded
for immediate deployment on landing. While the standard LRV400 Mk 2 LRV is in a 4x4
configuration, it can be converted to 6x6, which provides a significant
increase in volume and payload that enables the vehicle to undertake a wider
range of battlefield missions.
It has a gross vehicle weight of 4,200kg, of
which 1,700kg is the payload, which covers crew, fuel, supplies, weapons and
ammunition. It is powered by a V6 turbocharged diesel engine
developing 256hp, coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which gives
the vehicle a maximum road speed of 160km/h and a range of 800km. The LRV400 Mk 2 on display at Eurosatory is
fitted with rollover protection, on the top of which is a ring mount armed with
a .50 machine gun with a 7.62mm machine gun alongside the driver. The company is also showing its larger HMT400
Jackal stablemate, which is used by a number of special forces around the
world. This includes Norway and Australia, the latter to meet its Redfin 1B
programme to replace the currently deployed Land Rover vehicles.
